Danger-ous Birth: Day One.

Well my baby is finally here! I can't believe I have this precious gift of life to enjoy every day. He is seriously the best thing to ever happen to me. I figured now is a great time to begin my blogger journey yet again. Hopefully this go proves to be successful.

Brett was born on June 17, 2011 at 6:28 p.m. The road was long and mostly hard.

My due date was June 14th and 2 days later there was still no Brett. I was beyond frustrated. I just wanted to be induced and be done with it. The weather had started to turn hot, and I was huge! I went to the doctor on Thursday and still there was no sign of improvement. We left a little dissapointed, and very much ready for our son to be here. My Brother in law, Jon Jon, had given us a call and told us that a dinner at Frugatti's had sent my Sis in law in labor and that he was going to pay for us to have a final date night without needing a babysitter. So I got all dolled up for the last time and enjoyed a wonderful meal with Hubby. Sure enought at 1:00 am that night I went into labor

I spent the whole night sitting in my rocking chair timing contractions and trying to sleep in between. Finally at 6:00 I woke up Jordan and told him it was time! We spent the next hour and a half timing the contractions and getting everything ready for the hospital. We got to the hospital around 9:00 and contacted our families.

Labor completely SUCKED! It was long and not easy. I finally got my epidural at around 1:00. OH MY GOODNESS. I must say I will never turn down and epidural. AMAZING. I finally couldn't feel any of my contractions and I was able to get some much needed rest. I started progressing really fast at that point. I went from 4 to 8 cm within 4 hours. That's pretty good for a first time delivery.

Finally at about 5:45 I began pushing. This was so difficult. I now know why they call it LABOR. It was crazy exhausting. But it was all worth it when my 7lb 14oz bundle of joy arrived. Unfortunately there were some complications. His head was too big so he had to be vaccumed out. (talk about traumatizing for him haha) and he was born with a fever (which we later found out was a sign of the infection to come)
Jordan got to cut the umbilical cord, and finally my baby was placed on me. I can't even begin to describe the joy I was filled with. It was literally the hardest and most rewarding experience of my life, thus far.

Here are some goodies from the day.

Jordan cutting the umblical cord.

Jordan getting to hold Brett for the first time.

So. Tired.

Well look forward to part 2 tomorrow!
