Danger-ous Birth: Day One.

Well my baby is finally here! I can't believe I have this precious gift of life to enjoy every day. He is seriously the best thing to ever happen to me. I figured now is a great time to begin my blogger journey yet again. Hopefully this go proves to be successful.

Brett was born on June 17, 2011 at 6:28 p.m. The road was long and mostly hard.

My due date was June 14th and 2 days later there was still no Brett. I was beyond frustrated. I just wanted to be induced and be done with it. The weather had started to turn hot, and I was huge! I went to the doctor on Thursday and still there was no sign of improvement. We left a little dissapointed, and very much ready for our son to be here. My Brother in law, Jon Jon, had given us a call and told us that a dinner at Frugatti's had sent my Sis in law in labor and that he was going to pay for us to have a final date night without needing a babysitter. So I got all dolled up for the last time and enjoyed a wonderful meal with Hubby. Sure enought at 1:00 am that night I went into labor

I spent the whole night sitting in my rocking chair timing contractions and trying to sleep in between. Finally at 6:00 I woke up Jordan and told him it was time! We spent the next hour and a half timing the contractions and getting everything ready for the hospital. We got to the hospital around 9:00 and contacted our families.

Labor completely SUCKED! It was long and not easy. I finally got my epidural at around 1:00. OH MY GOODNESS. I must say I will never turn down and epidural. AMAZING. I finally couldn't feel any of my contractions and I was able to get some much needed rest. I started progressing really fast at that point. I went from 4 to 8 cm within 4 hours. That's pretty good for a first time delivery.

Finally at about 5:45 I began pushing. This was so difficult. I now know why they call it LABOR. It was crazy exhausting. But it was all worth it when my 7lb 14oz bundle of joy arrived. Unfortunately there were some complications. His head was too big so he had to be vaccumed out. (talk about traumatizing for him haha) and he was born with a fever (which we later found out was a sign of the infection to come)
Jordan got to cut the umbilical cord, and finally my baby was placed on me. I can't even begin to describe the joy I was filled with. It was literally the hardest and most rewarding experience of my life, thus far.

Here are some goodies from the day.

Jordan cutting the umblical cord.

Jordan getting to hold Brett for the first time.

So. Tired.

Well look forward to part 2 tomorrow!

CRAVINGS!!

This past week has been a little intense (intense almost seems like an understatement)There has been so much going on and God is completely wrecking us! (In a good way) Our church Hingepoint has been going through a series called Sun Stand Still. Its based on the book by Pastor Steven Furtick. Its all about audacious faith and praying audacious prayers. Jordan and I have some pretty significant "Sun Stand Still" prayers going on right now and God is totally and completely coming through! This week a friend of ours decided to give us a car...no big....!!!!!.... Jordan and I have been living with one car since November and it has not been easy to say the least. God giving us this car is huge and we are so very thankful! This last Sunday pastor asked us to bring our sun stand still prayers on a piece of paper and as a church we brought those prayers to the altar and prayed for them together. It was by far one of the most powerful worship experiences I've ever been apart of.

On a lighter note, my chocolate cravings are RIDICULOUS I cannot help myself! I don't even really like chocolate all that much! Sweet Surrender is constantly on my brain and yesterday I got to eat this little beauty.

We have a Dr. Appointment tomorrow. It's an ultra-sound and I'm pretty excited to see my little guy. Its been a while.

Is it spring yet?

So as I come out of my 22nd week of pregnancy I have to admit I'm getting pretty excited for the next few months! Tomorrow my Baby Brett will be due in exactly 4 months! Preparations are being made and as you can see from my picture I finally look pregnant!

This week was a busy one for us. Jordan and I have been having some difficulties with finding a Dr. that fits us. So this week we had an appointment with a new Dr. and I can happily say we have found "the one" He is great and makes us feel totally at ease and makes sure we know exactly whats going on! He dropped a pretty big bomb letting me know that in order for the Brett to be a healthy weight I needed to gain 30-35 pounds!!! WHAT THE HECK??!! I was fully planning on a weight gain of about 20 pounds! I've only gained 6 thus far. I had a minor panic attack when I thought about how HUGE I am going to be! I also am not totally convinced its even possible for my tiny body to carry that much extra weight. I am pretty excited about the excuse to eat more chocolate-y goodness. Its also pretty fun when your husband is constantly shoving food in your face!

The weather has been AMAZING and I just really really really really want it to be spring already. My mom took me shopping for some maternity clothes and I just want an excuse to wear all the goods I got! Plus can we please just talk about how excited I am for pitchers and catchers to report! Oh and the 500 is this coming Sunday! yessssss! Life is good!

I love my little family, and I'm starting to feel a little more ready for my nudger.

Packers Party

Totally forgot to mention my fun Sunday! Super Bowl party. I'm pretty
sure I ate my weight in complete JUNK! We had an amazing spread of
good ole southern BBQ plus lots of good like the one before you :)

These days

Well as a result from a printing from my friend I am goingto blog
again...

I am 22 weeks pregnant and not really enjoying any of it... :/ in week
20 I experienced the most horrible pain of my life due to a wretched
kidney infection. It's making me seriously dread labor! In week 21
Jordan and I finally felt little Brett move. That was really cool but
a little weird. My bump is growing daily. It makes sleeping difficult
and being comfortable even more difficult! Boo! Let's just say I'm
ready for this nudged to be OUT!!

I'm experiencing a lot of anxiety about being a mom. I feel like I'm
too young and don't have a clue what Im doing. I babysat 4 kids last
week and couldn't even put a diaper on right! Needless to say that
made me a complete wreck! Poor Jordan has to endure all my craziness I
tell you I feel CRAZY.

Well I suppose that's enough ranting for one post! In fun news we got
a crib and this guy we know thoughtwe got a "crib" like a house...haha
he's still in high school...silly kid. Gave me a real good laugh
though!

Week 13

Well I can say I am happy to be out of my first trimester! The first was absolute HELL. I was sick every day, and some days I would be sick all day. So it was quite a celebration to make it though a whole day of Disneyland without puking! And let's face it Disneyland is horribly romantic at this time of year. Jordan and I had a really great time. It was nice to get away for a day and the weather was perfect. We had the most perfect day.

Now we are home and back to the grind of things! One day I'll start posting baby bump picture....but I need a baby bump before I can start doing that :) Next week will be super crazy! It will be hard to recap!

Baby On The Way

Well blog world, I figure now is a good time to continue on in my blogging ventures. Why? Because I am pregnant. I love the idea of writing down my thoughts throughout the process and quite frankly I hate writing so the whole private journal thing is out. So here we go!

I found out I was pregnant on October 9th 2010. Which also happens to be the day after my birthday! It was an incredible shock and a ton of emotions. Mostly I feel like WHAT THE HECK??? I'M GOING TO BE A MOM??? Its just all so weird.

I got to see my baby for the first time yesterday and the joy Jordan and I felt just can't be matched. It was so nice to see "it" knowing that little baby Barker is safe and healthy inside me. It was so surreal to see the baby moving so much and not be able to feel it! I know that won't last for too long. I'm 12 weeks and Due June 14th, I've LOST weight, which seems weird, but when you throw up every morning it seems to make sense. There is no way you can tell I'm pregnant just by looking at me which kinda makes me sad. I just want a little baby bump already!!

I am so excited for the Christmas season. I got a few decorations up. I put up a tree in our bedroom that has all my childhood ornaments on it. Its fun to see it lit up, remembering all the Christmases I've had with those little guys. I'm so ready to have Christmas with Jordan. Our first Christmas married, our last Christmas just the two of us. Its a crazy time and I feel like I'll be holding on to EVERY single memory. Soaking in EVERY moment because I don't want to take for granted the little time we have left before this little floater arrives.
